Poster of the Ignatian Itineraries 2026–2027

The Ignatian Spirituality Centre (CIS) of the Society of Jesus presents the 2026–2027 programme of the Ignatian Itineraries, dedicated to the theme “Invoking the Peace of the Spirit with Saint Ignatius of Loyola.” From October 2026 to June 2027, pilgrimages, guided prayer, art and formation will offer various opportunities to engage in Ignatian meditation with body and spirit and to follow in the footsteps of the pilgrim Ignatius.

The programme includes pilgrimages to Ignatian sites, including a two-day pilgrimage on 14 and 15 November, entitled From Ignatius’s Arrival in Rome to the Foundation of the Society of Jesus: Discernment, and a pilgrimage to the seven churches of Rome on 14 March 2027, following the practice of the first Jesuit fathers. Two afternoon events following in the footsteps of Saint Ignatius are also planned: one at La Storta and the other at San Pietro in Montorio.

The guided prayer sessions at Saint Ignatius’s rooms, in Piazza del Gesù, continue. Here, a visit to the places where the saint lived and died becomes a spiritual journey that introduces participants to Ignatian meditation.

The programme also includes Vedere e gustare (Seeing and Savoring), an initiative that proposes observational drawing as a form of meditation in Jesuit churches, in collaboration with Pietre Vive and the rectors of the Jesuit churches in Rome.

Finally, the programme includes a training course for guides to Ignatian sites, consisting of five Saturday morning sessions, from 9 a.m. to 12 noon, at the CIS headquarters in Rome and online for those who live farther away. Applications are open. The Ignatian Itineraries team also organises group pilgrimages on request.
